Sam Wood-Ede

Sam Wood-Ede is a seasoned professional in social care with extensive experience at Hertfordshire County Council since June 2016, currently serving as Direct Payments Manager. In this role, Sam leads the development of self-directed support through direct payments and individual service funds. Previously, as a Senior Social Worker, responsibilities included supporting adults with disabilities and mental health illnesses to live independently in accordance with the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act. Additionally, from January 2011 to September 2015, Sam worked as a Personal Assistant funded by direct payments, assisting individuals with daily tasks to uphold their independence. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership at the University of Hertfordshire, with expected completion in September 2024.
