Carlos Rijs

Carlos Rijs, PhD, is a seasoned professional in the field of data science and analytics, currently serving as Manager of Data Science & Analytics at HESTA since September 2017. Throughout the tenure at HESTA, Carlos has held multiple roles, including Data Science Lead and Acting General Manager of Empowered Intelligence, alongside positions as Senior Data Scientist and Advanced Analytics Specialist. Prior to HESTA, Carlos contributed to Monash University from March 2012 to August 2017 as a course designer and sessional tutor in Mathematics. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical Astrophysics and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Astrophysics/Applied Mathematics, both earned from Monash University, along with a Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School Online.
