Grant Whiteman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Grant started their career in 2015 as a Front of House staff at The Slug and Lettuce. In 2016, they completed an 8-week summer internship at Kinapse, where they gained experience in database management, Microsoft Office, and quality procedures.
In 2019, Grant joined Cambridge Fire Research as a Fire Resistance Test Engineer, a position they held until 2022. During their tenure, they conducted fire resistance tests and contributed to research in this field.
In 2021, Grant participated in an intensive 12-week Software Engineering Academy at Digital Futures. Grant learned and practiced Full-stack JavaScript development, including frameworks like React, Express, and NodeJS. Grant also gained experience in testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jasmine, and Jest. As part of a team, Grant worked on a final project involving creating a deployable web application with continuous development using PostgreSQL, Express, React, and Node.
Grant's most recent work experience is as a Junior Software Engineer at Semble, starting in February 2022.
Grant Whiteman completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they attended Dane Court Grammar School from 2007 to 2014 and obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Grant'ssubjects of study during their diploma included Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English, Geography, and French. In addition to their academic qualifications, Grant Whiteman also obtained a Full Driving License from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) in August 2016.
