Derek Whittington

Derek Whittington, CPA, currently serves as the Senior Director of Refinery Accounting at HF Sinclair. With extensive experience in operations accounting, Derek previously held key roles at Andeavor, including Director of Operations Accounting and Assistant Controller for Refining and Marketing, as well as at Marathon Petroleum Corporation as Assistant Controller and Director of Refined Product Accounting. Derek has led teams responsible for comprehensive accounting functions in refining and commercial operations, managing large staff and complex regulatory requirements. Derek earned an MBA in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a BBA in Accounting and Finance from Baylor University.
