Katherine Scott

Katherine Scott is currently serving as the Executive Director for Human Capital at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) since October 2023. Prior to this role, Katherine worked at HHS's Departmental Appeals Board as an Attorney Advisor from September 2016 to October 2023. Katherine has experience in litigation, having worked as an Associate Litigation Attorney at Rusing Lopez & Lizardi, PLLC, where representation included various civil and criminal matters. Additionally, Katherine served as a Contract Attorney for the Misdemeanor Panel at the Pima County Office of Court Appointed Counsel, as well as an Associate Attorney at Karp & Weiss, P.C., focusing on domestic relations and criminal defense. Katherine holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Tulane University.
