David Liu

David Liu has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry. David is currently working at HIBio as the Senior Director of Antibody Engineering. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Protein Engineering at Asher Biotherapeutics from 2020 to 2022. From 2019 to 2020, David was the Head of Protein Engineering at 3T Biosciences.

David Liu spent several years at AbbVie, where they held multiple roles including Director and Associate Director of Protein Engineering. During their time at AbbVie, they led a group responsible for antibody discovery, protein engineering, purification, and characterization. This work contributed to the development of numerous clinical programs and late preclinical programs in the field of oncology. David was also a member of the research leadership team, contributing to the definition of research strategy.

Prior to AbbVie, David worked at Stemcentrx, Inc. as an Associate Director of Protein Engineering and Head of Antibody Engineering. David also held positions as a Scientist II and Scientist I at the company. Before Stemcentrx, Inc., David worked as a Research Assistant at MIT and Kyoto University, and as a Technical Consultant at PureTech Ventures.

David began their career as an Intern at Biogen Idec and as a Research Assistant at Stanford University. David Liu obtained their education from prestigious institutions, including a degree from MIT.

David Liu completed their education with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering specializing in Protein Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2005 to 2011. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate and master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University from 2000 to 2005.
