Tyler Chavez

Tyler Chavez has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Tyler is currently working as the Senior Director of Corporate Development & Alliance Management at HIBio since July 2022. Prior to this, Tyler worked as an Adjunct Faculty at The Johns Hopkins University starting from January 2017.

At BeiGene, Tyler held multiple roles, including Director of Alliance Management from September 2021 to July 2022, and Associate Director of Alliance Management from December 2019 to September 2021.

Tyler served as the Director of Strategic Partnerships at AppliedVR from November 2018 to December 2019. In this role, they were responsible for building and managing strategic partnerships with top tier academic medical centers and hospital systems, evaluating potential new partners, and developing a key opinion leader engagement strategy.

Before that, Tyler worked at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. as a Sr. Alliance Management & New Product Planning Associate from May 2018 to November 2018, and as an Alliance Management Associate from May 2017 to May 2018. Tyler successfully managed a portfolio of strategic alliances with academic medical centers, research institutes, and biopharmaceutical companies, facilitated agreements, and provided visibility to senior leadership on partnership progress and alignment.

Tyler began their career at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV) as a Business Development Associate from November 2015 to April 2017. Tyler sourced and evaluated new business opportunities and managed industry collaborations with biopharmaceutical companies. Prior to this, they worked as a Technology Analyst at JHTV from October 2014 to November 2015, evaluating technologies for commercial and technical feasibility.

Tyler Chavez has a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Sonoma State University. Tyler also holds a Master's Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University.
