Bill Roberts

Bill Roberts was named President and CEO of GEICO in 2018 and retired as Vice Chairman in December of 2020. Bill also previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer, beginning in 2013. Over his 37-year career, Bill helped lead GEICO to become the second largest auto insurance company in the U.S. He joined GEICO in 1984 and served as Vice President of Marketing for six years. He then served as Assistant Vice President for Underwriting, Group Vice President and Senior Vice President. Roberts became Executive Vice President of GEICO in 2000 with responsibility for marketing and advertising, information systems, telecommunications and the Internet business unit, staff development, military marketing and goods for resale. He also served as Chairman of the GEICO Insurance Agency. Roberts is currently on the Admiral Insurance Board of Directors in the U.K., which is the largest auto insurer in the U.K. and has subsidiaries in Italy, Spain, France and the U.S.
