Mason Hickman has a diverse work experience that spans various roles in different industries. In 2007, they started as a Teaching Assistant in German at The University of Texas at Austin before becoming an Assistant Instructor from 2008 to 2009. Mason then worked as an Adjunct Professor of German at Southwestern University from 2010 to 2010. Simultaneously, they began their career in the spa industry as a Massage Therapist at The Woodhouse Day Spa from 2010 to 2012. From 2012 onwards, Mason Hickman joined Hiatus Spa + Retreat, initially as a Massage Therapist, and later took on the role of Lead Massage Therapist, Spa Experience Manager, and ultimately became the Director of Education and Product Development. In 2018, they briefly worked as a Brand Ambassador for SPARITUAL before assuming their current role at Hiatus Spa + Retreat.

In 2003, they started their undergraduate studies at The University of North Texas, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in German and Business. Mason completed this degree in 2007. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, Mason attended The University of Texas at Austin, where they focused on German Language and Literature and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree.

In 2009, Mason decided to explore a different field and attended the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage. There, they studied Massage Therapy/Therapeutic Massage and obtained the Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) degree in 2010. Additionally, Mason holds an additional certification as a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworker from The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB), though the specific date of obtaining this certification is not provided.
