Steve Sharit

Steve Sharit, CPA, is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in technical accounting and financial reporting. Currently serving as Senior Manager, Technical Accounting at Hibbett Sports since January 2021, Steve supervises two direct reports and manages lease accounting for a substantial portfolio of store leases and fleet assets, optimizing processes for improved efficiency. Prior to Hibbett Sports, Steve held various accounting roles, including Accounting Supervisor at Children's of Alabama, where responsibilities included fixed asset and construction accounting, as well as serving as Financial Reporting & Tax Specialist at Baptist Health System, overseeing tax compliance and financial disclosures. Steve began their career in public accounting, gaining diverse tax preparation experience at firms such as Lischkoff, Pitts & Powell, P.C., and Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP. Steve holds a Master's degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Auburn University.
