Jonathan Layton

Manager of Building Diagnostics at HICAPS, Inc.

Jonathan Layton has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Construction Supervisor at E J Hanes Construction from April 2005 to October 2009. Jonathan then worked as a Product Engineer at DAC Products from October 2009 to August 2010, where they created design concepts and collaborated with design and project management teams. From September 2009 to February 2015, they served as an Energy Specialist at TSI Energy Solutions, conducting energy audits and consulting with clients on energy efficiency measures. Later, they joined Franklin Energy Services as an Energy Specialist from March 2015 to July 2018, maintaining the same responsibilities after the company took over TSI's Duke Energy contract. Most recently, Jonathan has been working at HICAPS, Inc. since July 2018, initially as a Building Diagnostics Project Engineer and currently as the Manager of Building Diagnostics. In these roles, they have managed services in the Building Diagnostics department and has been responsible for bid processes, development of presentations and reports, and ensuring document accuracy.

Jonathan Layton has a diverse education history. Jonathan obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Architectural Engineering Technologies/Technicians from Forsyth Technical Community College from 2000 to 2003. More recently, they pursued a Construction Management Diploma at North Carolina State University, which is expected to be completed in 2022.

In addition to their formal education, Jonathan Layton has acquired several certifications. Jonathan is a licensed field auditor accredited by the Air Barrier Association of America, obtained in October 2019. Jonathan also holds certifications in commercial inspections from the American Home Inspectors Training Institute, obtained in August 2019, and as a Construction Manager in Training from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), also obtained in August 2019.

Furthermore, they are certified as a Small UAS Remote Drone Pilot by the Federal Aviation Administration, which they obtained in January 2021. Although the specific dates are unavailable, Jonathan Layton has also earned certifications as an AutoCAD User from Forsyth Technical Community College, a Building Analyst Professional from the Building Performance Institute, Inc., a Level II Thermographer from The Snell Group, and an OSHA 30 certification from ClickSafety.
