Chris Rice is an experienced educator and IT professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently a teacher at Hickory Public Schools since August 2005, Chris has taught English and AP Literature and is transitioning to the role of Instructional Technology Facilitator for the 2024-2025 academic year. Previously, Chris served as a Network Administrator at Piedmont HealthCare, where responsibilities included managing the IT department and designing the network for a 35-location company. Chris began teaching at Hickory Public Schools in 1993, focusing on IB English and Honors English III. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree Add-on Certificate in Educational/Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching English, alongside a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
