Alex Poynter

Alex Poynter is an experienced hospitality professional with a robust background in restaurant management. Currently serving as Area Support Manager and Senior General Manager at Hickorys Smokehouse since March 2022, Alex oversees a large team at a high-capacity establishment in Wilmslow. Previous roles include Senior General Manager at The Merlin and Premium Country Pubs within Mitchells & Butlers PLC, where Alex demonstrated a strong focus on profitable trading and successful remodels. Earlier experience includes managing Vapiano restaurants in both the UK and Australia, as well as a foundational role at Pizza Express, culminating in a General Manager position in Dublin. Alex holds a BA Hons in Drama from the University of Hull.
