Tom McCarthy

Tom McCarthy currently serves as a Paralegal at Hicksons Lawyers since August 2022 and as Company Secretary at Hunter Christian School since December 2021. Tom's experience includes a role as a Student Ambassador for The Law Society of NSW (October 2023 - September 2024) and a Summer Clerk at Allens (November 2023 - February 2024) with rotations in Mergers, Acquisitions & Capital Markets, and Banking & Finance practice groups. Prior positions include Vice President (Sponsorship) and Director of Student Relations for the University of Newcastle Law Students' Association, Law Clerk at Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers focusing on Family Law and Education Law, and various roles at Medowie Christian School. Tom's educational background includes a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Newcastle, as well as studies in International Commercial Law at King's College London and a unit in Competition and Consumer Law at the University of Sydney. Additionally, Tom holds a Bachelor of Business with a major in International Business from the University of Newcastle.
