Rob Rowe, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several industries. Rob started their career as a Plant Engineer at General Motors in 1980 and worked there until 1985. Rob then pursued graduate research at the University of Arizona, Optical Sciences Center, where they focused on medical imaging and designed a 3D gamma-ray tomographic imaging system for their dissertation. From 1991 to 1992, Rob worked as a Post-Doc at Leica Camera AG, leading the development of a high-precision optical measurement system. Rob then joined Sandia National Laboratories as a Post-Doc in 1992.

In 1993, Rob became the Director of Research at InLight Solutions, where they led a large team of scientists in developing novel systems for noninvasive medical measurements. Rob also evaluated business opportunities that led to multiple spin-off companies.

In 2001, Rob co-founded Lumidigm and served as the Chief Technology Officer until 2014. During their time at Lumidigm, they played a crucial role in technology and product development, focusing on multispectral imaging systems for fingerprint acquisition, matching, and spoof detection.

In 2014, Rob joined HID Global as the VP of Biometrics, leading the development of AI-based biometric solutions. Rob then served as the VP of Innovation, Extended Access Technologies from 2017 to 2018, where they led a team in developing custom AI-based biometric authentication solutions. Since January 2019, Rob has held the position of VP, Corporate AI at HID Global.

Rob Rowe, Ph.D. has a Ph.D in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona. Rob also holds a M.S. degree in Optical Sciences from the same university. In addition, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University. Rob has also earned a certification in Blockchain: Disruptive Technology from MIT Professional Education in April 2022.
