David Beveridge

David Beveridge has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. David is currently Vice President of Engineering at HiddenLayer since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as Vice President of Research Engineering at BlackBerry from November 2020 to October 2022.

From 2013 to 2020, David held multiple roles at Cylance Inc., including Director of Research Engineering, Software Architect, and Sr. Software Engineer. Before that, they worked at McAfee from 2008 to 2013, where they served as Sr. Software Development Engineer and Global Threat Intelligence Western Research Lead/Manager.

David also gained experience as a Senior Researcher at McAfee-DoCoMo Labs from 2004 to 2007, where they handled emergency situations, reverse-engineered mobile phone viruses, and developed prototype products.

Earlier in their career, David worked as a Technical Lead at Cascadia Information Technologies from 2002 to 2004, where they were responsible for product architectural design and project estimation. David also worked as a Software Developer at Timberline Software from 2001 to 2003, specializing in product installations.

In addition, David has experience in the film production industry, having worked as a 2nd AD & Location Manager in freelance film production from 1996 to 1998. David started their career as a Defined Benefit Administrator at Standard Insurance Company, where they automated production processes and tracked down lost individuals with uncollected pensions from 1994 to 1996.

David Beveridge completed their education in a chronological order. From 1989 to 1994, they attended Whitman College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a minor in Theater Arts. Following that, between 1998 and 2000, they pursued an Associate of Science degree with a focus on Computer Science at Portland Community College. Lastly, from 2001 to 2008, they attended Portland State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, with a minor in Mathematics. In addition to their formal education, David Beveridge acquired a certification in the Harvard ManageMentor Leadership Development Program, which they obtained in June 2019 from Harvard ManageMentor.
