Marty Childs

Marty Childs is the current Regional Grants & Contracts Analyst at HIGH DESERT EDUCATION SERVICE DISTRICT. Prior to this, Marty served as the Chief of Staff at Bend La Pine School District 1 from July 2017 to June 2018. In this role, Marty assisted the Superintendent in providing leadership in developing and maintaining quality education programs and services in the District. Marty also served as a key advisor, facilitator, strategic thinker, and problem solver for the Superintendent. In addition, Marty provided coaching and support to Cabinet and Executive Team in the areas of leadership development, Board/staff relations, community and governmental relations. Marty also served as the executive liaison with the Board of Directors by facilitating effective communication with the Board’s leadership team, individual Board members, and executive staff.

Prior to Bend La Pine School District 1, Marty served as the Deputy Superintendent at Bend-La Pine Schools from July 2000 to June 2012. In this role, Marty was responsible for assisting the Superintendent in providing leadership in developing and maintaining quality education programs and services in the District. Marty also served as a key advisor, facilitator, strategic thinker, and problem solver for the Superintendent. In addition, Marty provided coaching and support to Cabinet and Executive Team in the areas of leadership development, Board/staff relations, community and governmental relations.

Marty Childs has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Portland State University - School of Business and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration and Management, General from Oregon State University.
