Barry Foster

Barry Foster has a diversified work experience spanning several industries and roles. Barry is currently serving as the 1st VP and foundation Director of the Australian Chapter at the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA). Barry played a crucial role in the establishment committee and served as the International Executive Board liaison. In addition, they provided support and advisory services for the setup of the HTCIA Singapore Chapter. Before joining HTCIA, Barry worked as a Digital Forensic Consultant for various government agencies, law enforcement, and corporate organizations. Barry provided electronic evidence services, including seizure and analysis, on a contracted basis. Barry also delivered training in electronic evidence to law enforcement and government agencies in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and the United States. Barry has held significant positions in renowned companies such as KPMG New Zealand, where they served as Director in the Risk Advisory - Forensic Services division. Barry'sresponsibilities included managing the Forensic Technology practice in New Zealand and providing E-Discovery support. Prior to this, they worked as the Information Security Head & Cyber Forensic Laboratory Director at Standard Chartered Bank. Barry also has experience working as a National Director of Technology Risk at PPB Advisory, where they were engaged as an expert witness in civil disputes and criminal investigations, providing evidence in the Supreme Courts of Victoria and New Zealand. In the past, they served as Associate Director - Analytic & Forensic Technology at Deloitte New Zealand, managing the Analytic & Forensic Technology practice and working on various fraud and business-related investigations. Additionally, Barry has a background in the military, having served as an Army Officer in the New Zealand Army. Barry Foster's education history starts in 1990 when they attended the NZ Army Military Police School, where they studied policing, investigations, security, and close protection. In the same year, they also attended the RACMP Military Police School, focusing on operational policing, investigations, and security. From 1994 to 1998, Foster enrolled at the NZ Army Intelligence Centre, where they studied military intelligence, counterintelligence, and security operations.
