Laura Mazer

Dr. Laura Mazer is a Harvard and Stanford-trained surgeon-turned-educator. She is the author of numerous articles, chapters, and textbooks on the topic of medical education and surgical training, and has traveled the world lecturing as an expert on assessment and curriculum development. She is the recipient of multiple local and national teaching awards. She fell in love with Montessori when she began to explore applications of Montessori principles to technical skill training in the operating room. That love transformed her educational goals from a focus on medical education, to a desire to impact education on a grander scale: from birth through adulthood. She now leads the program development team at Higher Ground, where she works with an incredible team of creative people looking to reimagine what education can be.
