Sam Morris

Bioprocess Lead at HigherSteaks

Sam Morris has worked in a variety of roles in the bioprocessing field since 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Research Student at the University of Hull. Sam then moved to the University of Oxford, where they were a Research Student from 2015 to 2016. In 2016, they began working as a Research Scientist - Biotransformation Process Development for Oxford Biotrans Ltd., where they were responsible for the R&D, optimisation, and scale up of enzymatic P450 biotransformations. In 2021, they began working for HigherSteaks, where they held three roles: Bioprocess Lead, Senior Bioprocess Engineer, and Bioprocess Engineer. As Senior Bioprocess Engineer, they were responsible for the development of scalable bioprocesses for the expansion and differentiation of mammalian iPSCs in bioreactors. As Bioprocess Engineer, they were responsible for researching, developing, optimising, and scaling up suspension culture methods for porcine iPSCs, as well as hands-on design, procurement, set-up, operation, and optimisation of bioreactors.

Sam Morris attended the University of Oxford from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a MBiochem in Biochemistry (Molecular and Cellular).
