Brian D. Philson

Brian D. Philson has been President & CEO at Highfields since 2020. Prior to that, they were with ASWB - Association of Social Work Boards from January 2015 to December 2016 as Adjunct Faculty. From 2008-2020, they were with the Michigan Federation for Children and Families as a Member Board of Directors. Brian has also been an Adjunct Faculty member at Siena Heights University from 2008-2017 and Spring Arbor University. Brian chaired the Michigan Board of Social Work from 2013-2020. Brian's experience also includes being the Director of Jackson County Youth Center from 1985-2006 where they operated a 50 bed Juvenile Detention/Treatment facility with an operating budget of 2.5 million dollars.

Brian D. Philson has a degree in social work from Spring Arbor University and a masters in social work from Michigan State University. Brian also has a certificate in nonprofit executive leadership from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Brian is currently developing major gifts at Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
