Lucas Hunziger, Vice President of Technical Education, came to Highland Community College from USD #449 where he was an Industrial Technology Instructor for 12 years. He previously served as Director of Technical Education for Highland Community College for 7 years. Lucas is a native Kansan graduating from Atchison High School before earning a Bachelor Degree in Technology Education from Pittsburg State University.
He also holds a Master Degree in Education from Baker University and a Master Degree in School Leadership from Benedictine College.

Highland Community College
The first college in Kansas began as Highland University in 1858. Approximately 2,700 students are enrolled on the main campus or at their 33 regional locations in nine county service area. HCC offers Associate degrees in 50 concentration areas and has 15 programs that are technical education degrees. The main campus is located in Highland, KS with regional locations in Baileyville, Holton, Perry, Wamego, and a technical center in Atchison.
