Senior Midwestern Regional Manager, Market Development at Highland Electric Fleets

Joshua Williams has a diverse work experience in the fields of automotive and international trade. Joshua is currently working as the Midwest Regional Manager of Market Development at Highland Electric Fleets since 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Advisor and Head of Business Sweden N.A. Future Mobility Ecosystem at Business Sweden from February 2022 to July 2022, where they supported US e-mobility and autonomous vehicle companies in identifying partnership and investment opportunities in the Swedish mobility landscape. Joshua also assisted the consulting team on US market entry projects.

Before joining Business Sweden, Joshua worked at the Department for International Trade (DIT) for several roles. From May 2021 to February 2022, they served as the Director of Automotive & Future Mobility, leading a national team and coordinating the implementation of the automotive strategy. Prior to that, they were the Vice Consul and Head of Automotive, USA from October 2014 to May 2021. In this role, they focused on promoting the UK's strengths in low carbon vehicle technology, connected & autonomous vehicles, and lightweight materials.

Earlier in their career, Joshua worked at UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) as the Business Development Manager - Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing from June 2014 to October 2014. Joshua also held the positions of Business Development Associate - Advanced Engineering from January 2012 to June 2014, and International Business Development Intern from September 2011 to December 2011. Joshua'sresponsibilities included managing prospective clients, conducting market research, and drafting reports for UK trade clients.

Joshua's experience also includes internships at Opportunity International as a Research Associate Intern from September 2010 to December 2010, where they drafted donor proposals, conducted research on prospective donors, and collected poverty statistics and Microfinance information. Joshua also interned at the U.S. Commercial Service from June 2010 to August 2010, where they conducted research and developed a resource allocation methodology for the organization.

Joshua Williams attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School from 2003 to 2007. After completing their high school education, they enrolled at Wheaton College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations with a minor in Economics. Joshua graduated with honors (Cum Laude) in 2011.
