For more than 25 years, The Monnin Group Ashley HomeStore has worked to prove that a furniture and mattress retailer can be more than just a place to buy sofas, recliners, bedroom sets, dining sets, and mattresses; It can be a driving force behind community improvement. Brothers David, Ben and Mitch Monnin, owners of Ashley HomeStore, have furniture in their blood. In 1945 their grandfather, Mike Goffena, started over at the end of World War II by opening a furniture, appliance, and carpet store in Sidney, Ohio. In 1989 David, Mitch and Ben’s parents, Dave and Sandy Monnin, started their own home furnishings store – Highland Home Furnishings – in Bellefontaine, outside of Columbus, Ohio. The boys grew up in the business, learning their craft and many of their values from their parents. Those values drive their vision today: Be the Difference. This vision guides everything we do at Ashley HomeStore, from how we treat our customers to how we give back to our community. We’re human, so we’re not always perfect at Being the Difference. But it’s the goal we always strive for. Because Being the Difference can help our customers, our partners, and our communities reach their fullest potential.
