David D.

David D. has a strong background in air traffic control. David started their career as a Trainee Air Traffic Controller at NATS in 1999 and worked there until 2002. In 2002, they joined Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd as an Air Traffic Controller and gradually progressed to the role of Senior Air Traffic Controller in 2011. David also held positions as Unit Safety Manager & Air Traffic Controller and Unit Competency Manager & Air Traffic Controller from 2018 to 2020. Recently, they have been working as an Interim Manager Air Traffic Services and Head of Air Navigation Services at Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd.

David D. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of the West of Scotland. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications throughout their career. These certifications include an Assessor Endorsement and an OJTI Refresher from Global ATS LTD - Aviation Training Services in October 2019, an APS Rating from Global ATS LTD - Aviation Training Services in December 2015, Remedial Training Techniques from EUROCONTROL in March 2015, Airport Operations from Resource Group in November 2014, Occurrence and Investigation from EUROCONTROL in June 2014, an OJTI Endorsement from Global ATS LTD - Aviation Training Services in January 2008, Meteorological Observers Certification from the Met Office in January 2003, an Approach Procedural Rating from Resource Group in August 2002, and an Aerodrome (ADV/ADI) Rating from NATS in March 2001.
