Ashley Pool

Ashley Pool has extensive work experience in the medical field. Ashley currently serves as the President of Highlands Medical Center since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Lakeland Community Hospital from February 2020 to September 2022, and before that, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at the same hospital from August 2018 to February 2020. Ashley also worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Athens-Limestone Hospital from August 2017 to September 2018 and at Pool Healthcare & Aesthetics from October 2014 to September 2018. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Professor at Athens State University from August 2017 to January 2018. Ashley has previous experience as an Owner/Nurse Practitioner at MedWest Community Healthcare from April 2006 to October 2014 and as a Nurse Practitioner at ATHENS INTERNAL MEDICINE & NEPHROLOGY, P.C. from 2003 to 2006. Ashley began their career as a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Huntsville Hospital in 1997.

Ashley Pool has a Master's degree in Management in Health Care from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, which they completed in 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2000 to 2003. Ashley also holds a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, which they obtained from 1994 to 1997. Ashley Pool completed their high school education at Clements High School in 1993.

Highlands Medical Center is a not-for-profit 170-bed healthcare facility located in Scottsboro, Alabama. As the sole healthcare facility in Jackson County, we provide quality and innovative healthcare to our community. Highlands Medical Center is a component of the Jackson County Health Care Authority. The JCHCA also includes Highlands Health and Rehab, Cumberland Health and Rehab and two new Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine facilities. North Jackson Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine was opened on October 7, 2013, and Scottsboro Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine will open in November 2013.
