Samuel J Davis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Samuel J began their career in the US Army as a Mobile Communications Specialist from 1990 to 1994. Samuel J then served as a Sergeant in the 447th Military Police Company (US Army Reserves) from 1994 to 1998. After leaving the military, Samuel joined Verizon Wireless as a Programmer from 1998 to 2005, where they focused on analyzing, designing, maintaining, and coding web applications. Samuel J then transitioned to the Columbus Metropolitan Library, where they worked as a Sr. Applications Programmer from 2005 to 2008, and later as an Application Solutions Architect from 2008 to 2013. During this time, they were responsible for developing and maintaining various web applications using languages such as PHP, Drupal, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, Coldfusion, ASP, SQL, XML, JSON, and HTML. Since 2013, Samuel has been working at Highlights for Children, initially as the Manager of Web Operations and later as the Senior Manager of Network Services, responsible for overseeing corporate network systems and infrastructure, as well as customer-facing websites and cloud infrastructure. Samuel J also serves as the Director of Information Security and Web Operations, where they work closely with executive leadership to shape corporate InfoSec policy and provides leadership in web operations and security. Throughout their career, Samuel has demonstrated strong technical skills and a dedication to supporting business needs and security requirements.

Samuel J Davis obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from DeVry University, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. In September 2019, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)².
