Maries Huening

Maries Huening has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Behavior Interventionist and previously holding roles as School Principal and Assistant Principal at Highline Public Schools since July 2018. Prior to that, Maries was an Assistant Principal at Highline High School from July 2018 to July 2022 and a Substitute Teacher with Seattle Public Schools from October 2017 to July 2018. Additional experience includes serving as Principal Intern at Nathan Hale High School and working as a teacher and mentor in the Glenbard High School District #87, teaching German to students in grades 9-12, while also sponsoring the German Club. Maries' educational background includes a Doctor of Education from the University of Washington, a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Illinois Chicago, and dual bachelor's degrees in German Linguistics and Literature, as well as English Linguistics and Literature from the University of Konstanz. Furthermore, Maries has international teaching experience, including an English instruction role in Germany.
