Janine Colinear

Janine Colinear is senior vice president and interim chief financial officer and treasurer for Highmark Health, a $22 billion national, blended health organization that includes one of America's largest Blue Cross Blue Shield insurers and a growing regional hospital and physician network. Based in Pittsburgh, Pa., Highmark Health's 37,000 employees serve millions of customers nationwide through the nonprofit organization's affiliated businesses including Highmark Inc., Allegheny Health Network, HM Insurance Group, United Concordia Dental, enGen and Helion.

In this role, Ms. Colinear is responsible for leading the enterprise's efforts to develop, plan, and implement finance strategies, serving as the primary liaison among regulators and ratings agencies, and overseeing the finance, tax, and procurement divisions of Highmark Health. A certified public accountant, Ms. Colinear holds over 25 years of finance experience, spending most of her career in the health insurance and health care industries. She joined the organization in 2002, holding progressive roles across Highmark Inc. and Allegheny Health Network. Prior to her current interim position, Ms. Colinear served as senior vice president — finance for Highmark Health, responsible for the organization's financial activities, including enterprise financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial accounting and reporting (FAR) and procurement. Previously Ms. Colinear was the senior vice president — finance, corporate services at Allegheny Health Network, a provider organization within the Highmark Health enterprise, and held roles of chief accounting officer, controller and vice president of financial accounting and reporting for Highmark Inc., the insurance arm of the organization.

Prior to joining the Highmark organization, Ms. Colinear spent eight years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the practice of public accounting with a focus on the insurance industry. She maintains a Certified Public Accountant license in Pennsylvania.

Active in her community, Ms. Colinear serves as a board member of the Highmark Foundation and the Women's Center and Shelter of Pittsburgh.

Ms. Colinear earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and International Business from the Pennsylvania State University. She lives in in Franklin Park, Pa. with her husband, Nick, three children and two dogs, and enjoys traveling and skiing with her family.
