Nick Mellott

Nick Mellott has a strong background in financial analysis and investments in the real estate industry. Nick currently works at Highwoods Properties as the Director of Investments & Asset Management, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Manager of Financial Analysis & Investments at Highwoods Properties from March 2020 to March 2023. Nick also worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Highwoods Properties from June 2019 to March 2020.

Before joining Highwoods Properties, Nick worked at Piedmont Office Realty Trust as an Associate in the Capital Markets division from February 2017 to June 2019. In addition to their work experience, Nick has held various internship positions. Nick was a Summer Intern at Morningstar Properties, LLC in 2014 and a Financial Analyst Intern at Commonwealth Annuity in 2007.

Before pursuing their MBA, Nick gained experience as a Commercial Real Estate Analyst at American Capital from June 2011 to July 2013. Nick also worked as an Asset Management Analyst at MTAG Services from March 2010 to June 2011 and as a Research Associate at CoStar Group from February 2009 to February 2010.

Nick Mellott attended Mercersburg Academy from 2000 to 2004. Nick then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree at Questrom School of Business, Boston University from 2004 to 2008, with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship. Later on, they completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School from 2013 to 2015.
