Steve Dixon Pe, Cem, Leed-Ap

Steve Dixon, PE, CEM, LEED-AP has over 30 years of experience in engineering and management roles. Steve is currently working as Sr. Director of Engineering at Highwoods Properties, where they oversee a team of engineers and energy managers. In this position, they manage capital building improvements and evaluations for a large number of properties. Previously, Steve worked at Progress Energy as a Lead Engineer, providing engineering support and managing budgets for commercial, industrial, and governmental customers. Steve also has experience as a Project Engineer at O'Brien Atkins Associates, PA, where they coordinated construction drawings and conducted field inspections. Before that, they worked as a Project Manager at Southern Piping Company and as a Heating Air Conditioning Design Engineer at Fenner & Proffitt Consulting Engineers.

Steve Dixon earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University, graduating in 1984. Steve obtained their license as a Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina in January 1989. In addition to their engineering degree, Steve has acquired several certifications, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy (AEE) and LEED - AP from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Steve also holds licenses as an Electrical Contractor, General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor (H1, H2 & H3), and Plumbing Contractor in the State of North Carolina, as well as a license as a Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina.
