Jochen Schmidt

Jochen Schmidt is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the food industry. Since January 2009, Jochen has held the position of Lead Buyer for raw materials at Hilcona AG, specializing in vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, and pulses. Prior to this role, Jochen served as a Product Manager in Foodservice, focusing on market research, product development, and project management. Jochen's earlier experience includes working as a hotel inspector for the Michelin Guide across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria from September 2003 to December 2008. Additionally, Jochen has a solid culinary background, having worked in various positions at international 4-star and 5-star hotels from July 1995 to July 2001. Educational qualifications include a degree in Excellence in Food from Zurich University of Applied Sciences and a State-examined Business Manager degree from FHB College of Hotel Management. Jochen is also a certified cook, trained in Bonn, Germany.
