Andrew is a partner in the health team. He is a highly experienced practitioner who specialises in defending clinical negligence claims, with a particular interest in adult and child brain injury claims.
Andrew joined the firm as a trainee in 1997 and became a partner in 2006. Throughout his career he has specialised in healthcare law, with a background in healthcare advisory work and coroner's inquests. He now specialises in defending catastrophic clinical negligence claims, with a particular focus on cerebral palsy and adult brain injury claims.
Andrew is the firm's lead for maternity claims and related risk/safety issues, including for NHS Resolution’s Early Notification (EN) and CNST Maternity Incentive Schemes, on which he regularly advises clients. Andrew piloted the first ‘Summit’ under NHS Resolution’s EN Scheme and has conducted many Summits since.
Andrew regularly lectures to clients on maternity issues, including speaking alongside NHS Resolution and HSIB.
Andrew obtained a law degree at the University of Sheffield and studied the LPC at the College of Law, Chester.
