Farhad Malek-Asghar has a diverse work experience in the IT field. Farhad started their career in 1999 as a Senior Developer at Cambridge Technology Partners, where they worked until 2002. From 2000 to 2007, they served as a Software Engineer at Bay area Teachworkers. In 2007, Farhad joined Hillphysicians as a Senior Corporate DBA and continued working there until 2012. At Hill Physicians Medical Group, they took on the role of Team Leader Database Administrator in 2012. In this position, they supervised and provided direction to other Senior DBAs, designed database solutions for different groups within the organization, and managed corporate databases, analysis, reporting, and ETL processes.

Farhad Malek-Asghar began their education journey by earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information System from San Jose State University between 1995 and 1997. Then, from 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Master's degree in Information Technology from Golden Gate University.

In terms of additional certifications, Farhad achieved numerous Microsoft certifications. In April 2009, they obtained the MCITP: Database Administrator on SQL Server 2005 certification. In March 2010, they earned the MCTS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Business Intelligence Development certification. In September 2010, Farhad added the MCITP: Database Administrator 2008 and the MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance certifications to their repertoire. Furthermore, by September 2013, they had obtained the MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional certification. Later on, in August 2016, Farhad acquired the MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014 certification. Finally, their most recent certification was the Hands On Essentials - Data Lake certification, obtained in August 2023 from Snowflake.
