Michael Rabkin has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades in various roles within the Hillel International organization and other educational institutions. Michael began their career as a Jewish Campus Service Corps Fellow at Hillel of San Diego in 1997 and continued to work with the organization as a Program Director for UCSD until 2000. From 2000 to 2002, they served as a Campus Strategic Services Associate at Hillel International.
In 2003, Rabkin worked as a Research Assistant at Brandeis University before joining the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion as a Development Associate in 2004. At Hebrew Union College, they were responsible for researching prospects and drafting proposals for a major campaign.
In 2005, Rabkin became the Emory University Campus Director for Hillels of Georgia, where they managed a significant division and achieved a 40% growth in student engagement. Michael also raised substantial funds through operating revenue and capital gifts.
In 2012, Rabkin became the Executive Director of Hillel of San Diego, a position they held until 2017. During this time, they oversaw the organization's operations and strategic direction.
Since 2017, Rabkin has been working as a Campus Support Director at Hillel International. In this role, they act as an internal strategy consultant and thought leader, partnering with local campus Hillel affiliates to develop and execute plans aligned with the organization's enterprise strategy. Michael is responsible for areas such as campaign strategy, donor cultivation, financial forecasting, and marketing.
Throughout their career, Rabkin has demonstrated their leadership skills, fundraising capabilities, and commitment to supporting Jewish students and organizations.
Michael Rabkin received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Colorado Boulder between the years 1993 and 1996. Later, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Public Administration degree in Nonprofit Management from the NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service from 2002 to 2005.
