Chad Keone Farias is the Complex Area Superintendent for Ka’u-Kea’au-Pahoa. He has been an employee in the Hawai’i Department of Education since 1993 as a teacher, counselor, vice-principal, principal and superintendent, and has served all three complex areas on the island as well as two complex areas as the superintendent.
Chad Keone was born and raised on Hawai’i Island and has a great interest in serving the island, especially the marginalized and underserved communities. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education from Loyola Marymount University, and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from the University of Hawai’i. Besides his membership with the East Hawai’i Regional Board, he is up for confirmation as a member of the Hawai’i School Facilities Agency.
