Born and raised on Hawai`i Island, Clarysse Kami Nunokawa is currently retired after years of service in government and the nonprofit sector. She is a graduate of Hilo High School, and earned a master of social work degree from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa. She and her husband Randy returned home to Hawai`i Island in 2003 after 30 years of living and working in Honolulu. She is experienced in facilitating groups, managing large state, and federal grants, having managed the Meth Initiative and the Tobacco Prevention and Control Trust Fund for the Hawai`i Community Foundation and Strategic Prevention Framework State Incentive Grant to prevent underage drinking for the County of Hawai`i.
