Julie Tulang

HHSC Corporate Board Member at Hilo Medical Center

Julie began her career as a teacher and educator after earning a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Linfield College in Oregon. A lifetime resident of the Hamakua Coast and Hilo, she later served as coordinator for the elderly nutrition/meals on wheels program, and director posts for including Director of Parks and Recreation for County of Hawai`i. For over 20 years Julie has been an active member of area community service organizations including Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s School Board, Hawai’i Housing Authority, Chinese Civic Association of Hawai`i and the Zonta Club of Hilo. She has served as a member of the Hilo Medical Center Foundation since 2008 and as Chair from 2012-2016. In January of 2016, Governor Ige appointed Julie to the HHSC Corporate Board as the State-wide “At Large” member and she currently serves as the HHSC Board Chair.
