Ed Schmalzle

Ed Schmalzle has extensive experience in technical leadership and advisory roles. Ed is currently the VP of Engineering at HiMama since April 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Technical Advisor and then VP of Engineering at WholesomeCo Cannabis from March 2020 to April 2021. Ed also worked as a Technical Advisor at IndiFit from July 2020 to January 2022.

Earlier in their career, Ed held the position of VP of Platform Strategy at Leafly from April 2018 to April 2020, where they played a crucial role in business development and strategy. Ed successfully closed major deals and expanded partnership opportunities for Leafly.

Before Leafly, Ed served as the Director of Engineering at OrderUp from October 2014 to April 2017. Ed provided engineering leadership during a period of rapid growth and managed the integration of OrderUp with Groupon post-acquisition.

Ed also has experience as a co-founder and CTO at Back Forty, a company that provided consultative services and was acquired by OrderUp in October 2014.
