Kumud Kumar

Major (Retd.) Kumud Kumar joined is responsible for the entire human resource function of the Group. Before Himatsingka, Major Kumud has worked with the Vedanta Group as Head – Human Resources Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO). He spearheaded several transformational initiatives there. Under his leadership, the organisation was recognised with the Golden Peacock Award for H.R. Excellence in 2016. More than three years of his transformational journey at BALCO resulted in it receiving Aon Best Employer Award in 2018. An H.R. veteran with over 25 years’ experience, Major Kumud brings with him a rich, vast, and varied expertise spread across different sectors. He has held leadership positions with marquee organisations such as Tecumseh Products India Ltd, Gerdau (Brazilian MNC), Global Steel Holding Ltd., Philippines and Usha Martin Ltd. He served in the Indian Army for nearly 8 years, where he was awarded the Suraksha Seva Medal. Major Kumud is an alumnus of Nagpur University with a Masters in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and topped the university in his batch. He has also completed his Executive General Management Program from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Professionally, he has trained at reputed international institutes such as INSEAD, Fontainebleau, Paris & Asian Institute of Management, Manila.
