Glen de Villafranca

Glen de Villafranca has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Glen started as a Program Analyst at URS Corporation in 2012 and held this position until 2018. Then, they joined the University of Pennsylvania - Singh Center for Nanotechnology as a Graduate Student Fellow from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they are working at Himax IGI Precision, starting in 2018. At Himax IGI Precision, they began as a Nanotechnology Engineer and later transitioned to the role of Engineering Manager in June 2022. Their responsibilities in their current role include process engineering of micro- and nanostructures, utilizing lithography techniques such as grayscale lithography, electron-beam lithography (EBL), and direct-write laser (DWL) lithography. Glen specializes in creating unique optical elements like gratings and lenses.

Glen de Villafranca began their education in 2007 at Lehigh University, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and International Relations. Glen continued their education at the University of Pennsylvania from 2016 to 2018, earning a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) with a specialization in Nanotechnology. During the same period, they also completed a Certificate program in Engineering Entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania.
