Mr Niranjan Gupta is the Chief Financial Officer – Designate of Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).
He is an accomplished leader with 30 years of experience covering FMCG, Metals & Mining and Auto sector across developed and emerging markets spanning both global and local roles.
Prior to joining Hindustan Unilever Limited, he served as CFO and was subsequently elevated to CEO of Hero MotoCorp, the market leader in two-wheeler segment. Niranjan’s tenure at Hero MotoCorp is marked by strategic transformation, portfolio reshaping, financial resilience, and industry-wide collaborations, which helped create a platform for long-term, profitable growth during a period of major transformation in the mobility sector.
Before joining Hero MotoCorp, he worked at Vedanta Resources as CFO for the Aluminium & Power business. Prior to Vedanta, Niranjan had a distinguished 20-year career at Unilever, where he held several leadership roles across Finance and Supply Chain, including Chief Procurement Officer of South Asia and Global Category Finance Director in London.
Niranjan is a strong believer in speed and simplification and is an advocate of digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. He has served as a Board Member on many companies, including EV startup Ather Energy, and is a member of various industry bodies.
By qualification, Niranjan is a Chartered Accountant, Cost and Works Accountant, as well as a Company Secretary. He enjoys music, writing, and travelling.
