Marshal Paterson

Marshal Paterson has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering and development industry. Marshal is currently working as the Mobile Lead Engineer at hipages Group since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Mobile Technical Lead at Karta Gift Cards from February 2022 to November 2022. From September 2020 to August 2022, they were the Director of Software Engineering, acting as the founder and strategist at Chalice 360 Pty Ltd. Marshal worked as a Mobile Solution Designer at The Star Entertainment Group from April 2018 to February 2022. Before that, they held the position of Mobile App Technical Lead at Tquila ANZ from July 2017 to April 2018, where they contributed to presales, practiced ITIL and TOGAF principles, and led React Native and React solutions. Prior to this, Marshal had various roles at Infomedia Ltd, including Team Lead Manager from October 2011 to July 2017 and Senior Full Stack Developer and Full Stack Developer from 2006 to 2011. Marshal was also the Director of Mobile Software Engineering at obii.mobi in 2009 and worked as a Web Developer at Heywood Innovation from 2004 to 2006. Marshal's early career includes roles as a Web Developer at The Salinger Group from 2003 to 2004 and as a Web and Multi-media developer at TENSQUARE from 2000 to 2003.

Marshal Paterson has a diverse education history with a focus on computer science and technology. Marshal obtained a Quantum Computing degree from MIT xPRO in 2021, specializing in Quantum Computing Fundamentals. In 2012, they pursued an IT Masters in Systems Development from Charles Sturt University. Prior to that, they completed a Diploma of the Sciences in Computer Science from the University of New England (AU) in 2008.

Marshal also holds several certifications and achievements. Marshal earned a Certificate of Achievement in Introduction to Enterprise Architecture from Enterprise Architects in 2015. In 2011, they obtained a Microsoft Certification (MCTS 70-536). Additionally, they hold an Adobe Certified Professional Certification in Adobe Flex 2, an Agile/XP Software Development training from Object Training, and two Microsoft Certificates of Achievement in Advanced Data Access with Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Advanced Web Application Development using Microsoft ASP.NET.

Marshal's further education includes a course in Developing Windows & Web Applications using C# from the University of Technology Sydney in 2006. In 1989 to 1991, they attended the Sydney Institute of Technology, although the degree or field of study is not specified.

Outside of formal education, Marshal has obtained additional certifications, including Introduction to Quantum Computing from LinkedIn in 2020, Serverless Architecture from LinkedIn in 2020, iOS App Development: Core ML from LinkedIn in 2019, RxJava: Design Patterns for Android Developers from LinkedIn in 2019, Building an Android App with Architecture Components from LinkedIn in 2019, and iOS App Development: Design Patterns for Mobile Architecture from LinkedIn in 2018. Marshal also obtained the MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft in 2006.
