Richard Phillips has a diverse work experience ranging from service design to consulting roles. Richard started their career at Global Vision International as a Hub Manager, managing a research station and coordinating wildlife investigations. Richard then worked at Informed Solutions as a Technical Consultant, where they were promoted to Senior Technical Consultant and later Lead Consultant. Richard also volunteered at MapAction as a Design/GIS Volunteer. Most recently, they worked at BT as a Service Designer and later as a Service Design Manager. Currently, they are a Principal Service Designer at Hippo Digital.

Richard Phillips completed their Master's degree in Geographic Information Science from UCL in 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford in 2007.
