Adam Riesselman

Adam Riesselman has a diverse work experience history. Adam is currently working as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Hippo Harvest since August 2021. Prior to this, they worked at insitro as a Machine Learning - Senior Lead Engineer from August 2020 to August 2021, and as a Machine Learning - Lead Engineer from January 2019 to August 2020.

Before their time at insitro, Adam was a Graduate Student in the Bioinformatics and Integrative Genomics Program at Harvard University from August 2014 to December 2018. During their time at Harvard, they worked in the lab of Debbie Marks in the Harvard Systems Biology Department and was supported by a Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship.

Additionally, Adam had various research roles earlier in their career. Adam was a DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellow at the Joint Genome Institute from May 2016 to September 2016. Adam also worked as a Research Assistant at Drake University from January 2012 to May 2014, collaborating with Dr. Jerry Honts and Dr. Gholam Mirafzal. Before that, they were an Intern at DuPont Pioneer from February 2013 to August 2013, where they gained experience in transcriptomics, enzymatic activity, and DNA editing.

Adam also had summer internship experiences. Adam was an REU Summer Intern at The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center from May 2012 to August 2012, where they focused on characterizing variation in Camelina sativa and conducting site-directed mutagenesis of soybean Gα proteins. Adam also had an internship at USDA/ARS as a Wallace-Carver Intern from May 2011 to August 2011, where they examined GFP expression and managed a breeding program for maize varieties. Prior to that, they were a George Washington Carver Intern at The World Food Prize from January 2011 to May 2011.

Adam Riesselman completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in Computer Science, at Drake University from 2010 to 2014. Adam then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Informatics at Harvard University from 2014 to 2018.
