Laura Boettcher

Laura Boettcher is the current Chief of Staff at Hippo Insurance. Laura has over fifteen years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on strategic planning, business intelligence, and reinsurance brokerage. Laura has a proven track record of success in establishing and growing new businesses, as well as developing innovative financial products.

Laura began their career in 2005 as a research assistant at the University of North Carolina. In 2007, they joined CompWest Insurance as Manager of Business Intelligence, where they were responsible for the company's strategic financial planning. In 2011, Laura joined Kleiner Perkins-backed startup Home Value Protection as Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. At Home Value Protection, Laura was instrumental in establishing the financial planning and analysis function and developing the company's innovative consumer financial product.

In 2012, Laura joined Guy Carpenter as Senior Vice President, Treaty Reinsurance Broker. In this role, they reported to the CFO and was a member of the management team. Laura was responsible for the negotiation and placement of treaty reinsurance contracts for Guy Carpenter's clients. Laura also played a key role in the development of Guy Carpenter's financial planning and analysis function.

During their time at Guy Carpenter, Laura played a key role in the growth and success of the company. Laura was instrumental in negotiating and placing reinsurance contracts that helped to mitigate risk and protect the company's clients from potential losses. Laura also played a key role in developing Guy Carpenter's financial planning and analysis function, which helped to ensure the company's long-term financial stability.

In September 2021, Laura Boettcher joined Hippo Insurance as Chief of Staff. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company and working closely with the CEO to ensure the successful execution of Hippo's strategic plan.

Laura Boettcher holds a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a BA in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

They work with Ryan Harpaz - COO & CTO, Yuval Harry - Chief Revenue Officer, and Tracy Bowden - General Counsel & Head of Compliance. Laura Boettcher reports to Richard L. McCathron, President & CEO.
