Mike Calkins

Mike Calkins is an experienced recruiter currently employed at Hire Velocity since January 2019. Prior to this role, Mike worked at The Medical Management Institute from February 1999 to May 2003, serving as a technical writer/editor, where technical content for specialty-specific coding and billing textbooks was authored and edited, leading to an expansion of titles to 23 across various medical specialties. Additionally, Mike was a consultant/instructor responsible for delivering instruction in medical coding, both in-person and online, as well as a production manager who oversaw distribution of production schedules and staffing requirements. Mike holds an associate's degree in Registered Nursing from Ashland Community and Technical College, earned between 1993 and 1997.
