Shannon Bausinger, Esq. is a seasoned legal professional with a diverse background in law and public service. Currently serving as a Staff Attorney at Hiscock Legal Aid Society since August 2022, Shannon previously held the position of Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Syracuse from August 2021 to August 2022. Experience also includes roles as an Appellate Brief Writer and Research Assistant at the Burton Blatt Institute, a Legal Intern at Colorado Legal Services, and a Legal Assistant at Mackenzie Hughes LLP. Shannon's early career includes an internship with the US Small Business Administration and peer tutoring at The College at Brockport. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law and dual bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice from SUNY Brockport. Additionally, education at the National University of Ireland Maynooth is ongoing.

At Hiscock Legal Aid Society (HLA), we are dedicated to the principle that no one in Onondaga County shall be denied justice because of a lack of means. HLA, founded in 1949, promotes the fundamental right of every person to equal justice under the law. We provide high quality legal assistance to individuals and families in Onondaga County and the surrounding region. Our practice areas cover a variety of immigration matters, mandated family court cases, divorce, domestic violence, housing, unemployment, appeals, parole revocation, and extradition. We work collaboratively with other legal assistance and human service providers to develop innovative ways to provide needed services to the maximum number of people in our community. In the last 18 months, we’ve handled more than 10,000 cases and impacted more than 14,000 people.
