David Johnston

David Johnston has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on compliance. David is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at Theircox, a role they have held since June 2019. Prior to this, they were the Group Chief Compliance Officer at Amlin plc from June 2012 to June 2019. David has also held various other positions in the insurance industry, including Senior Implementation Manager, Solvency II at the Financial Services Authority from August 2010 to June 2012, and Supervision Manager, London Market Insurance at the Financial Services Authority from November 2005 to July 2010. David began their career as a Motor Claims Handler at RSA in August 1996 before moving into progressively more senior roles, culminating in their current position.

David Johnston's educational career began at the Chartered Insurance Institute, where they studied to become a Chartered Insurer. David then went on to study for their ACII qualification at the same institute. After completing their studies in insurance, David Johnston decided to further their education by studying for an LLB (Hons) degree in Law at the University of Exeter.
