Sonia Martinez

Sonia Martinez has an extensive work experience in the education sector and nonprofit organizations. Sonia is currently serving as the Assistant Vice President for Advancement & Marketing at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Prior to this role, they held the position of Executive Director for STEM Programs at HACU.

Before joining HACU, Sonia worked as the Chief Academic Officer at Great Minds in STEM from 2017 to 2021. Sonia was responsible for overseeing academic programs in the organization.

From 2002 to 2017, Sonia worked at The University of Texas at San Antonio as a Senior Executive, where they played a significant role in the institution's operations and management.

Sonia'scareer in education began at The University of Texas at Austin, where they served as the Director of the College of Engineering from 1990 to 2002.

Sonia Martinez completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley from 1986 to 1987.
